Gordon Ryan Slams IBJJF While Praising Worlds: Most Ambiguous Ruleset Out There

Gordon Ryan is making his long anticipated transition to the gi, but on his road he’s taking baby steps. Still that does not mean he’s not watching Worlds and eagerly analysing future match ups. His beef with the IBJJF all started when his teammate Ethan Crelinsten had his match in brown belt finals stopped vs Kennedy Maciel.

There was no tap, time didn’t run out – apparently someone on the sidelines yelled “Tap, tap, tap”

Ryan commented:

Not to take anything away from Kennedy. Hes a great competitor and this is no way his fault.. but another classic example of the ibjjf f**king competitors out of a real chance at winning. Time was not up and in no way did @ethancrelinsten tap. Cant wait to sub everyone at worlds and take a s*it on the podium.

However later on Ryan’s nemesis – Felipe Pena was submitted by Meregali. This had rendered quite a reaction.

“Worlds matches are 💥💥💥 this year. The athletes at black belt should be getting paid per match..”
