Marcelo Garcia and Ronaldo Jacaré had memorable matches throughout their careers in Jiu-Jitsu. One of the first meetings in 2002, still a brown belt, had Jacaré winning. But the change would not be long in coming.
In 2004, at the Best Fighters tournament in Manaus, Amazonas, Jacare would fight at home, as a black belt, against a dangerous Marcelo, who had studied and trained specifically to beat him.
The result was favorable to the Alliance’s São Paulo middleweight, in a victory announced by referee Saulo Ribeiro. The classic video, made available in great quality by black belt Riccardo “Baleia” Ammendolia, can be seen below.
