Caio Terra is 32 years old – to this point he’s achieved many accolades. However IBJJF Worlds 2018 spectators won’t be seeing a repeat performance from Caio as he got injured just ahead of hte championship – not once but twice.
Caio told Flograppling,:
“My ribs popped and I kept training for one month with so much pain, I couldn’t even play half guard.”
But that was not the end of Terra’s woes – he tore a muscle on Thursday:
“Then Thursday I started feeling pain in my shoulder; I went to the doctor and found out I had torn a muscle. I can’t even lift my arm up.
I didn’t want to make it a big deal. Our team has so many people who have a good chance and I don’t want to be a distraction. The attention should be on them.”
Terra recently wrote:
Although I got my black belt faster than most people this belt still means a lot to me. It’s more than a piece of cloth, it is a responsibility to my teacher, to my students and to the art. Almost 12 years as a black belt and I remember the day like it was yesterday.
