Zabit grew up in Dagestan and started his combat sports journey with freestyle wrestling at the age of 10 years and he combined with kickboxing. He then started training Wushu and joined a Wushu boarding school where he lived and trained there for 6 years under the tutelage of Gusein Magomaev.

In the US, Zabit trains with Mark Henry and BJJ black belt Ricardo Almeida in New Jersey.
