The UFC weight cutting system might be in for a tweak. Since the changes were instituted allowing early weigh ins the number of people who have missed weight keeps on climbing.
The latest addition is Yoel Romero.
Breaking! Luke Rockhold vs Yoel Romero is still a GO for #UFC221! With a victory Rockhold will still claim the interim middleweight strap. The same cannot be said for Romero. #UFC

Per source close to Rockhold: “it’s on.”

Initially UFC middleweight contender missed weight by 3.3 pounds at UFC 221 weigh-ins Friday night (Saturday in Australia) for his scheduled UFC interim middleweight title fight against Luke Rockhold in Perth. Romero had to be 185 pounds or less to fight for the title and he came in at 188.3. The 2 extra hours did not help and he was still 2 pounds over weight.
Rockhold was angry afterward and he and Romero had an intense staredown at weigh-ins that almost got physical.
