Dream to Organize 16 Woman Invitational Sub Only with 1,000$ per Submission

Metamoris President Ralek Gracie’s comments to MMA Fighting about not including women in their events angered the BJJ community.
Since Michelle Nicolini vs Mackenzie Dern at Metamoris 2, they didn’t have any more women’s matches.
Ralek said:

“We had that one match and it was cool, but that was more of, ‘That’s cool and that was interesting and I want to see that again if the girls are cute.’ You know how it is. The UFC wouldn’t even have a women’s division if it wasn’t for Ronda Rousey. They wouldn’t even have it. It’s a really, really tricky thing.”

Dream, a US based Grappling organization have reacted by organizing a 16 Woman Championship tournament with 1,000$ on the line:

From Dream Facebook page:

Let’s be the change we want to see in the world and commit to showcasing the women of the sport! Jiu Jitsu is growing every year and Dream will host the 2015 Champion tournament, inviting 16 women to compete for our title.

Dream is the only event that has successfully organized a high level submission only women’s tournament and we will continue that tradition. Our defending Champion, Chelsea Donner (black belt, Atos) will be there! Who else should be a part of this competition? Stay tuned for details!
