This past Saturday China saw a spectacular display of unsportsmanlike behavior during an MMA fight.
The two fighter in the exchange were Bakhityar Barotov and Ibragim Khailov.
At WBK 22, Bakhityar Barotov extended the gloves for a fist bump to Khaliov – a common fighter etiquette. But soon enough he was KO-ed.
Khaliov opted to land a huge bomb to Barotov’s jaw knocking him out on the spot.

In grappling the fist bump slap which is done all over the world can lead into an opening for a flying triangle if you’re not careful – as per this account from reddit:
But still – abandoning etiquette doesn’t seem to be worth it. If we sacrifice good friendly sport displays over the rare bad apple we’ll be compromising our reputations as athletes.
