Nevermind CM Punk’s 1st Stripe – His 1st Opponent Survived Gordon Ryan

It’s all fun and games when your instructor awards you your first stripe. The feeling of elation and accomplishment is hard to repeat. It might be the most important promotion of one’s career and one that paves way for a long and rewarding journey that is Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Of course that stripe won’t get you far if you’re expected to face off against a much much more experienced opponent on the biggest stage you can imagine – The UFC.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be hosting a strange match on September 10th – during the event UFC 203 which will be headlined by Miocic vs Overeem.

Long time WWE wrestler CM Punk will be making his debut against Mickey Gall. Many question Punk’s abilities due to leaked footage from his training camp – but the real problem might be going much further. It might not be just how inexperienced Punk is – it also includes how well rounded Mickey Gall is as a grappler.

If there’s any doubt in your mind due to recent material that shows some definite progress for the WWE wrestler, consider this – Mickey Gall once held his own against one of the most promissing grapplers of today – Gordon Ryan.

Back in April of last year, Gordon Ryan went against Mickey Gall at NAGA World Championship. Take a look at just what CM Punk will be going against after just several months of jiu-jitsu?

Do you think there’s even a slightest chance Cm Punk could survive against such an experienced grappler?
