Former UFC Fighter Alex Oliveira Wins by Surprising KO Judo Throw at Titan FC 82

Alex Oliveira earned his 25th professional MMA victory by executing an unexpected sequence that ended the fight. On June 2, Oliveira participated in his 42nd pro-MMA fight on the main card of Titan FC 82 in Novi Sad, Serbia, which was co-promoted by SBC. The UFC veteran was paired against Stefan Sekulic, who had previously gone winless in four fights.

During the first round, with less than two minutes left, Oliveira was pushed against the cage as Sekulic attempted to secure a takedown. While in the clinch, ‘Cowboy’ landed several light punches before throwing Sekulic to the ground with a judo throw, knocking out the Serbian fighter.

Oliveira fought in the UFC from 2015 to 2022 and established a promotional record of 11-10 with one no-contest. Despite his numerous thrilling fights, the UFC parted ways with him after four consecutive losses. Oliveira’s initial fight outside the UFC resulted in a second-round submission loss to Michel Silva in June 2022. He then won two back-to-back fights inside the distance over the next six months. However, on April 1, ‘Cowboy’ was halted in his tracks with a first-round knockout loss against Kiefer Crosbie.

It is unknown what the future holds for the 35-year-old fighter. While Oliveira continues to put on entertaining fights, the UFC has shown reluctance to bring back some of its older fighters. It remains to be seen if ‘Cowboy’ will receive another opportunity in the Octagon. You can watch Alex Oliveira’s first-round victory at Titan FC 82 below.
