Berkut Jiu jitsu has just aired the 13th edition. In it a great deal of interesting matchups went on. The entire event was streamed live on youtube for free to an audience of 15k jiu jitsu fans. The card featured almost all of the greatest names of today including Buchecha, Leandro Lo, Gordon Ryan and many more.

The event took place in Long Beach – California.

Buchecha duelled Joao Rocha for the over 95kg title in the end earning the accolade. While Buchecha was notably dominant there was no submission and the two went head to head for 5 rounds.

Only Round 4 had points scored with Buchecha leading 9-0 and a decent armbar attempt

Leandro Lo duked it out with Gabriel Arges in the 85 kg division

Noticably slimmer Lo was happy with the outcome

In one of the biggest surprises of the night Vinny MAgalhaes emerged victorious from Gordon Ryan superfight:

Props to @vinnymma for playing a perfect game. There was some confusion on both ends as far as the scoring and rules were concerned. We both thought that the match was adcc rules but it was actually IBJJF rules with all subs legal. I was under the impression it was a 10 must scoring system like mma and if you win a round by points you win the round 10-9 and if the round was tied on points then judges would decide who the aggressor was and award them the round. Vinny scored a slick guard pass the 1st round to win that one and the next 2 rounds were tied 0-0 with 1 negative a round for vinny. So I was under the assumption I won 2 rounds to 1. Either way I didn’t fuck sub the guy and that’s what makes me furious more than anything lol. Looking forward to competing again. Everyone is still fucked.
