The ADCC Long Beach Open 2024, held on January 20th, 2024, featured several accomplished grapplers among its results. New Wave Jiu-Jitsu had an exceptional performance, winning both the male and female absolute divisions as well as multiple weight classes. Leading their success was Dan Manasoiu, who prevailed in seven matches to claim gold in the over 100kg division and the open-weight category. He shared the absolute podium with teammate Abraham La Montagne, who captured silver after winning the under 91kg division. Dominic Mejia completed the team’s gold medals by defeating six consecutive opponents to take first place in the under 70kg weight class.

Helena Crevar, demonstrated her skills across the under 65kg division and open-weight competition. She emerged victorious in both events, defeating several renowned grapplers including Peyton Letcher in the under 65kg final and Elizabeth Mitrovic in the absolute final. Other experienced grapplers found success, such as Andy Varela winning the under 83kg division and Elder Cruz taking first in the under 100kg category. Notable women’s results included Amanda Bruse capturing gold in the under 60kg class and Aislinn O’Connell placing first in the under 70kg division.
