Jim Clark is a 50-year-old Minnesota native who just won a NAGA title.
According to Fox TV, that makes Mr Clark ‘The USA’s best BJJ competitor’ (sic)
To be exact, Mr. Clark won first place in the category of “Directors NO-GI Expert Super Heavy Weight” at NAGA Minnesota held on May 17.
According to NAGA regulations the “Directors” division is reserved for men 40 and over. There’s also an “Executive” division for men 50 and over.
With the real BJJ elite champions such as Buchecha, Rodolfo or the Mendes brothers, Fox TV should have done some more research…The blame lies on the journalist, not Mr Clark as what he does at 50 years of age is truly admirable.
