For the first time in 100 years on American soil, the sport of Catch wrestling was reborn on June 7, 2014 at UCLA’s John Wooden Center.
14 catch wrestlers competed in seven wrestling matches as part of Catch Wrestling Alliance’s Inaugural Invitational – U.S.A. versus The World.
Winners of the seven matches included Brooklyn “Bully” Thomson of Canada, Kyle Johnson of the U.S.A. and Malcolm Tisdale of Canada in a tie, Ned Morales of the U.S.A., Amin Nazer of the United Kingdom, Colleen “Thoroughbred” Schneider of the U.S.A., Adam Laporte of Canada and Curran Jacobs of the U.S.A. The Billy Robinson Match of the Night Award was presented to wrestlers Xochi Wilder of the U.S.A. and Brooklyn “Bully” Thomson of Canada.
The 14 wrestlers who participated in Catch Wrestling Alliance’s Inaugural Invitational – U.S.A. Versus The World included:

Match 1: Brooklyn Thomson (CAN) defeated Xochi Wilder (US)
Match 2: Kyle Johnson (US) and Malcolm Tisdale (CAN) came to a draw
Match 3: Ned Morales (US) defeated Stephen Greenfield (Wales)
Match 4: Amin Nazer (UK) defeated Christopher Morales (US)
Match 5: Colleen Schneider (US) defeated Jennifer Thomas (US)
Match 6: Adam Laporte (CAN) defeated Jon Strickland (US)
Match 7: Curran Jacobs (US) defeated Christopher Crossen (UK)
Match of the Night: Xochi Wilder vs. Brooklyn Thomson

My goal is to reinstate legitimate catch wrestling competition globally. I’m very proud of all our wrestlers who took part in our Inaugural Invitational on June 7th.”
