BJJ world champion Sergio Moraes put his Brazilian jiu-jitsu on display to stop Neil Magny.

Moraes was able to clinch up and land a trip takedown.  From there, Moraes transitioned to side control. With half the round left, Moraes jumped to full mount.

He then went after a triangle choke, and while landing elbows from the bottom, he rolled over for a mounted triangle making Magny tap.

Moraes said about his training for the triangle:

“I’ve been living in Curitiba for a year and trying to strengthen my weaknesses – and that’s exactly what I’m doing. It was a mount that I train every day in camp. I’ve been practicing (the mounted triangle) in training, and I just happened to do it today.”

Notice the details of the position, while the fighter leaves the mount to go for the triangle, and when he catches the leg below the opponent to turn and finish tightening with no chance of escape.
