Fighting Lifestyle UAE caught up with IBJJF hall of famer and ADCC gold medalist Luanna Alzuguir after her routine training at the FGB arena in Abu Dhabi. Alzuguir is widely considered as superstar in the world of female jiujitsu and while her accomplishments speak for itself she still intends to keep growing in the field of competition.
Luanna Alzuguir who now calls Abu Dhabi her new home describes her current training and work life balance in the Emirates, in addition she talks about how Team Alliance Sao Paulo has affected her as a top level competitor, she describes the mindset & environment at Alliance and training under the legendary Fabio Gurgel.
Regarding submission only events, Luanna said:
“I like girls who have the same style as mine, girls who fight for submission. I have done amazing fights with Michelle Nicolini, we fought since the purple belt and I respect her a lot, she is one of the best fighters in the world. I think it’s going to be nice if I have the chance to fight with her in Metamoris or some similar events like this. I think it is going to be an amazing fight, for sure we are going to do a really good fight”
