Joe Conery is a BJJ black belt under Roberto Maia, and trains at Boston BJJ. He competed this weekend at IBJJF Boston in the adult division. Joe usually competes in the Master 4 division which means that he is over 45 years of age. It’s a remarkable feat that a full time engineer with two kids  did so well against the machine that is Joao Miyao who trains 3x a day. Joe lost the match to Joao but gave him a hell of a challenge. Joe Conery ended up with a Bronze in the black belt adult division. This goes to prove that heart, willpower and technique go a long way.
Joe Conery is a regular reader and follower of BJJEE.com, we just want to say one thing to you Joe: Respect!
