Ginastica Natural With Serbia’s Srdjan Rokvic

Another great video from Serbian grappler Srdjan Rokvic

In Motion
Ginastica Natural is a set of exercises developed in Brazil at the beginning of the 70s for the development of physical attributes of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes. Commonly called “yoga in motion”, it helps the coordination and motorics, as well as balance, strength and explosiveness of people that practice it, through an interesting mastering progression. The acrobatics showcased in this video are something that I’ve been working on through out my entire life, mostly guided with what I saw on screen – this is not a fundamental part of Ginastica Natural, but is certainly something that’s possible to master.

In Combat
Techniques shown in this video are rooted in non-striking ie. grappling martial arts, namely Luta Livre, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as Freestyle Wrestling. Each of the demonstrated techniques is completely realistic – meaning that it can be applied against a resisting opponent, if it’s practiced thoroughly and applied properly. All of them have been done in a combat competition setting, either by me, or by some other martial artists/fighters. I’ve learned a huge part of these techniques by training in Serbia’s best no gi team – Family Fight Team, which you can join on a number of locations in Novi Sad, Vojvodina or Montenegro.

If you are an expat living in Novi Sad and you would like to learn these by taking private classes, find me on facebook or contact me via my e-mail: srdjanrokvicc@gmail.com
