Bulletproof Coffee is, essentially, a hot coffee, plus two tablespoons of butter, plus a tablespoon of MCT oil (that’s medium chain triglyceride oil, which we’ll talk more about in a minute). Then you stick it in a blender until it’s all emulsified. Then you drink it. It shouldn’t replace breakfast.
Main Components Bulletproof Coffee
Coconut Oil or MCT Oil – Coconut oil technically is MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) oil, well about 65-80% MCT anyway. MCT oil is just more concentrated than coconut oil, but both have been shown to aid in fat loss.
Grass Fed Butter – Cows that have a diet of fresh grass yields butter that has improved consistency and nutritional properties. The increase of fresh grass in the diet proportionally increases the amount of fat content, specifically unsaturated fats, which gives a pleasant firmness. The nutritional quality also increases, it’s loaded with Vitamin K2 and Omega 3 Fatty Acids.
Immersion Blender – Oil doesn’t mix with water unless you give it some help. You need a blender to be able to force these 2 liquids together, giving you a finished look like a latte – foamy on the top.
A Team Redzovic Jiu-Jitsu member made a cool video about Bulletproof coffee done the Redzovic way:
This is one way on how to make yourself a cup of strong, effective bulletproof coffee. You will get 6-8 hours of energy with no crash. I learned this from a couple of the guys at Team Redzovic Jiu-Jitsu Chicago. You must use grassfed butter because it has Naturally Occurring CLA and Omegas which are great for the human body. Grassfed butter also has a good cholesterol that your body uses for energy and to heal cells. You also want organic unrefined coconut oil which is as close to pure coconut oil as possible and minimally processed. Coconut oil has MCT in it which gives you an energy boost and is also known to be used by body builders just for that reason. Coconut oil also has many other benefits. Another great benefit to bulletproof coffee is the loss of belly fat. It really works!
