With Polaris 3 having ended in 8 exciting matches but nevertheless draws after 15 mins of no points, submission only matches, the question one make ask himself is do Submission only matches really produce more submission than point matches?

Recently there have been many more “sub only” BJJ events. The thinking was that by taking out points and advantages, they would make for more interesting matches. Now that we have seen a number of sub only events, including this past weekend’s Polaris, I ask the question: Does sub only rules make for more interesting jiujitsu for the spectator?
