It definitely requires a special type of person to become a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. Only 3% of the people who start training will get there.

And for that I have my ultimate respect for any person who has achieved this rank.

“If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it.” – John Irving

This video from the Black Belt ceremony captures the feeling of a Professor who truly cares about his students.
The truth is also that 99% of the people who quit, does not have a real reason for it… busy schedule, got hurt (not permeant injury), have to take a longer drive, financial, …. those are all things that can be worked around. Trust me I know! I was a blue belt for 13 years, and i gave myself so may excuses not to train before, it took me a while to have the courage to continue my personal journey. If it is important to you, you will find a way. Quitting brings instant gratification, but perseverance will bring you glory!

The were all just trying to justify to themselves a reason to take the easy way and the ordinary path.
“The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man’s determination.” Tommy Lasorda
I will always try my best to show anyone that training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will enhance their life’s.
I live and breath Jiu Jitsu, this art has helped me to shape my character, to find true friendship, and everything I have today can somehow be linked to Jiu Jitsu.

I will always try to be a good BJJ ambassador until my last day and try my best to help other people to embrace the lifestyle.

Thank you to my Prof. Flavio Almeida, Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and my family for the ultra support and trust.

Alexandre Vieira is one of the most exciting up and coming grapplers today under the Brazilian Top Team flag.  In 2017, his loop choke submission was chosen as the Submission of the Year by FloGrappling. Alexandre recently put together his Crucifix and Loop Choke 3 volume instructional set.  Alexandre brings a modern outlook to some of the sports most devastating, but sometimes ignored positions, the crucifix and the loop choke.
