Robert Drysdale is the co-Founder, together with Rodrigo Cavaca, of Zenith Team. He is not only known for his great Jiu-Jitsu game Gi and No GI.
Drysdale was on the Inside BJJ podcast and he told the story of when he went to the Favela of Cantagalo, in Rio de Janeiro.
He was invited by Fernando Terere, and ended up coming face to face with armed drug dealers:
“We go up to the favelas, I’m terrified, it’s like three in the morning, we get to this open area and, I kid you not, there’s like 8-9 guys holding rifles and guns and they stop us. I’m like ‘oh F***.’ I think I’m a brown belt at the time but no jiu jitsu’s gonna save you there….”
