BJJ Legend Robson Moura: “I’m Not Retired & Still Have The Will To Compete”

5x World Jiu-Jitsu Champion at black belt, Robson Moura is at the moment exclusively devoted to seminars and teaching in his academies, but his will to compete in Jiu-Jitsu still exists.

In an interview with Tatame magazine (In Portuguese), Robinho said that due to his hectic routine, he could no longer fight in a tournament. But he did not rule out returning to the mats in a superfight at the Copa Podio or Metamoris.

“I have a dream to fight at the Worlds again. But I know I would have to give up many things to do that and probably will have to give up on that dream. Entering a competition like the Worlds, the Brasileiros or Pan and compete with this new generation is not something that I think about too much. But one Metamoris superfight or at Copa Podio, or something similar, I would be very happy to fight and sign it any time. ” he said, excited, reaffirming his status as competitor.

“I’m not retired. The will to fight is still with me. In a superfight at Copa Podio or Metamoris, I would have to train and focus on just one fight. In the case of the Worlds, for example, I would have to give up many things to get out there and fight four or five times and it does not attract me anymore. “

Considered the greatest featherweight in the history of Jiu-Jitsu, Robson Moura said that twists to Guilherme Mendes,3x  World Champion, to overcome his achievements in the category.

“He certainly has all the qualifications to do so. He’s young, very skilled and professional. I hope that he overcomes my record. And let somebody else then exceed his record, and so on. The most important is that we’re all in the history of Jiu-Jitsu.” He concluded.
