[WATCH] 19-Year-Old With Cerebral Palsy Wins BJJ Super Fight & Gets Promoted To Blue Belt

It goes without saying that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has one of the best communities in the world of sports…
And that it has a unique way of pushing you to the limits – showing both to yourself and to others that you are much more capable than it might seem at first sight.

Such is the case for Faris, a 19-year-old BJJ practitioner from Tuzla, city in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Born with cerebral palsy and full-body spasms due to birth complications, Faris overcame significant challenges through intensive therapy – taking his first steps at age five.
He soon excelled academically, graduating elementary school with honors.

Faris embraced physical activities like swimming, horseback riding, and martial arts, earning recognition at the 2023 Tuzla Canton Sportsman of the Year awards for athletes with disabilities.
He first trained karate but later found out about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

His dedication led to a standout performance at the Super Fight SGC – Submission Grappling Championship in Sarajevo – earning him a victory and a blue belt promotion!
