Ronda Rousey Open To Competing In Metamoris Under Certain Conditions

Ronda Rousey had said in a past interview that she can beat any female grappler in gi or no-gi BJJ.
That statement sparked some controversy, and many of the top BJJ women competitors including Bia Mesquita and Gabi Garcia challenged Rousey to a Metamoris type grappling match:

“First of all she is dead wrong. I don’t think she can beat any of the current black belt world champions. The skill level is so high and all she knows is that armlock. She is a great judo fighter, but in a Jiu-Jitsu match all you have to do is pull guard and her judo is done. I’d love to be in a fight with her. Maybe the people at Metamoris would like to promote a match like that. Jiu-Jitsu is much more than an armlock. It’s a lifestyle.”

Rousey addressed the issue last weekend during the UFC’s media event in Brazil, this time she said that she was open to compete in Metamoris under certain conditions:

“I’d be happy to do Metamoris if they paid me as much as they paid me for a UFC fight. I don’t really have that much time. Right now, it’s so much to keep up with the acting career, and the MMA career going. And everyone keeps going.  I would happy to do Metamoris. I think it would be a really cool idea when I’m done fighting, too, because that’s one of those sports that is kinder on the joints that you can do for a long time.”
