A defeat to Tim Kennedy on his debut in the Octagon and his sub performance has cost Roger Gracie his career in the UFC. The fight against Kennedy was the last of his four fight contract, which had been incorporated from his Strikeforce contract. The UFC chose not to renew the Brazilian’s contract, who is now free to negotiate with other organizations. The information was confirmed by Combate.com with sources close to the organization.

Gracie may return to light-heavyweight after finding the middleweight to be too difficult. Bellator is apparently interested but there has been no official communication. Gracie is a multi-time world BJJ champion and has a 6-2 record in mixed martial arts.
