Hollywood Star Tom Hardy Promoted To Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt

Hollywood actor Tom Hardy has reached another major milestone on the mats, earning his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after years of consistent training!

Hardy’s journey in the sport began back in 2011 while preparing for his role in the MMA film Warrior.
What started as role-specific preparation gradually evolved into a genuine passion.

Several years later, he began training more seriously and was promoted to blue belt in 2020.
Since then, Hardy has continued progressing despite an intense acting schedule, receiving his purple belt in mid-2023 and now advancing to brown belt.

While many celebrities have taken up Jiu-Jitsu in recent years, Hardy stands apart for how deeply he has immersed himself in the sport.
Rather than limiting himself to private sessions or light training, he has sought out high-level instruction and traveled internationally to train with elite grapplers such as Mikey Musumeci.

He has also tested himself in competition – something few high-profile figures are willing to do – and has picked up multiple wins on the local tournament circuit.

Hardy received his brown belt from Sonny Weston at Horsham BJJ, with longtime friend and renowned coach Tom DeBlass traveling to the UK to attend the promotion ceremony.
