UFC fighter and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, Brendan Schaub has just announced on his podcast the Fighter and the Kid Podcast that he is looking to compete at the IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship on May 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st & June 1st 2014, in order to help with ring rust as he waits for his next fight.
He posted a picture of him training with all the top black belts at Checkmat including Marcus Buchecha, Lucas Leite, Jackson Souza etc..
Schaub, a former Ultimate Fighter finalist, has been pushing for a fight with New Zealand heavy hitter Mark Hunt.
The two heavyweights were apparently on a collision course for the recently announced UFC Fight Night Card in New Zealand, but Hunt’s lingering hand injury from his last fight against Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva kept him from accepting the bout set for June 28.
The two have been waging a twitter war with each other looking for the UFC to sign the fight.
After his ‘Schaubing’ fiasco at Metamoris 2, how do you think he will do in the ultra heavyweight brown belt adult division at the worlds. He would be facing Sweden’s Tommy Karlson or Serbia’s Uros Culic.
