BJJ Competitor Disqualified After Biting Opponent During NAGA Match

A bizarre incident at a recent NAGA grappling tournament in Miami has sparked outrage – after competitor Ana Bozovic shared photos of deep bite marks on her forearm following a match.

Bozovic, who dominated her opponent throughout the match, revealed that the shocking moment occurred while she was controlling her opponent from top position.
When the match ended, she stood up to find a row of visible teeth impressions embedded in her arm.

Posting the images on X, Bozovic wrote:

Yes, that is my forearm post-match at the NAGA grappling jiu-jitsu tournament in Miami last weekend.

I will let the bite marks speak for themselves…

Occurred while opponent was flat on her stomach.
Opponent is a brown belt who is also about 20 pounds bigger than me.

She went on to describe the opponent as someone who fancied herself a bully, adding:

I love beating up bullies.

According to Bozovic, her opponent apologized after the match, claiming the bite was accidental.
However, Bozovic said the apology “didn’t feel genuine” and the referee quickly stepped in to disqualify the opponent upon seeing the injury:

Amazing that this does not happen more often if it can happen by accident.

This was a one-sided match, I controlled it from the takedown.
Thankfully my arm is much better today.

Nevertheless, this was a good experience.
And as intended, a good tune-up for ADCC trials next weekend.
