Day 3 of the 2014 Europeans is done and dusted. The action saw the brown master and black belt adult aboslute take place. The finalists for the black belt absolute final matches have been decided.
In the male division, the Dane Alexander Trans will take on Brazilian Yuri Simões for the title.
Trans beat Thomas Johanssen and Fabiano ‘Boi’ leite to reach the final.
Yuri Simões beat his first two opponents (Oliver Geddes and Jaroslaw Gajek)He then faced the dangerous Igor Silva in the quarterfinals and submitted him with an armbar.
Yuri Simoes beat Jackson Souza
Yuri faced his former team mate Jackson Souza in the semis. Yuri took Jackson down and was pressuring Jackson’s guard during the whole fight.
Trans and Simoes fought before in 2011, in the Euro purple belt open class final, and Trans won. Watch their match from 2011:
In the female division, Sweden’s Ida Hansson will face Luanna Alzuguir in the absolute final.
Luanna fought Janni Lasron in the semis in a close match. Ida Hansson beat Gretchen Zoeller and then beat Vanessa Oliveira.
On Sunday, the action will shift to the brown and black belts adults and masters.
