The third edition of the East European BJJ Open in Zagreb, Croatia has been confirmed for February 15th at the West Gate shopping Mall.
Last year, over 320 registered competitors and teams from the whole region competed. It ranks among the top regional BJJ competitions(Along with Hungarian, Croatia and Serbian Open).

ABSOLUTE (OPEN WEIGHT) DIVISION There will be no absolute division for juvenile or master competitors. Only adult competitors will have open weight divisions. Only 2 athletes from same academy can participate same open weight division. Disqualified competitors cannot compete in openweight division. ONLY COMPETITORS RANKED 1ST, 2ND, 3RD, 3RD in their weight divisions can participate ABSOLUTE DIVISION! Disqualified competitors will not receive medals or prizes, independently of their current position in brackets. Registration for absolute divisions will be in the venue after all weight categories are over. MERGING CATEGORIES In case of lacking competitors in certain devisions, organizer can merge weight or belt categories which must be announced prior to the competition, and in brackets online. In case of merging divisions of different belts, always will be applied rules for the lower belt. Juvenile and adult divisions can not be merged or mixed in one division. PRIZING AND MEDALS First 4 ranked will receive medals. There will be two 3rd places, no fight for the 3rd place.
Prizes and medals will ONLY be given on the podium, after all fights are over. No prizes or medals will be given while competition is still running. REGISTRATIONS, CHECK-IN AND WEIGH-IN All athletes who have registered online, must check-in 14/2/2014. DAY BEFORE THE COMPETITION , with ID or passport, or any valid document with photo. Check-in can be done by coach or team leader for the whole team. Athlete can chose if he / she wants to check his/her weight day before or on competition day. Weigh-in will be in kimono. Tollerance on the weigh-in is 100g, all athletes who do not pass weigh-in are automatically disqualified. DISCIPLINE ON THE MATS AND GI RULES All athletes should have 2 gis, in case if one gi gets ripped. Gi size will be checked on weigh-in. Athletes not wearing proper gi sizes, or colours, with patches on inappropriate places,dimensions or materials will be asked to change the gi. If athlete does not change the gi with the proper one within 5 minutes, will be disqualified. All athletes and coaches are kindly asked to treat each other, staff and referees in respectful manner. Severe fault may result with disqualification of athlete or coach. Athletes cannot enter or leave the mats before referee’s sign.
