Last week, Craig Jones broke his hand and was therefore forced to withdraw from a match against Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa at “The Road to ADCC”. Yesterday, however, FloGrappling announced that William Tackett will be stepping up to replace Jones and that he will face Barbosa. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 17.
Tackett, representing the Brazilian Fight Factory, is one of the most promising talents on the competition scene. He holds wins over the likes of Andrew Wiltse and Manuel Ribamar. Earlier on, he faced Barbosa in 2020 at the “Subversiv 4” promotion, losing by referee decision.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF “THE ROAD TO ADCC” CARD?

The rest of the card is very exciting as well! The main event is going to be between the two 2019 ADCC gold medal winners – the Heavyweight champion Kaynan Duarte and Middleweight champion Matheus Diniz. Nicky Ryan will face Dante Leon, and Mikey Musumeci will take on Geo Martinez.
Furthermore, the card will feature Elisabeth Clay – the 2021 No Gi Pans double gold medal winner – who will face Ana Carolina Vieira, a four-time IBJJF World Champion. Also, Andrew Wiltse will take on Roberto Jimenez… Which is to be a fast-paced match to say the least!

Here’s a comprehensive list of the Road to ADCC card:

  • Kaynan Duarte vs. Matheus Diniz
  • Nickey Ryan vs. Dante Leon
  • Mikey Musumeci vs. Geo Martinez
  • Elisabeth Clay vs. Ana Carolina Vieira
  • Andrew Wiltse vs. Roberto Jimenez
