[WATCH] Reinier de Ridder Wins UFC Debut With Stunning Arm Triangle Choke

Reinier de Ridder made a statement in the UFC middleweight division…
By submitting veteran Gerald Meerschaert in his debut during the UFC Vegas 100 co-main event – with an Arm Triangle Choke!

The former two-division ONE champion faced off against his former training partner, Meerschaert – who holds the record for the most submissions in UFC history.

After an intense back-and-forth fight, de Ridder ultimately got the finish he was looking for in the third round.
Once he took Meerschaert to the mat, de Ridder advanced to Mount, set up an Arm Triangle Choke, and forced his opponent to tap out.

Check out the finishing sequence on the video below:

After the fight, de Ridder joked about tapping out another submission specialist in his UFC debut:

I think Gerald Meerschaert’d Gerald Meerschaert, so thank you Gerald.

It was my first one here so I wanted to show some good stuff.

This victory not only gives de Ridder a successful UFC debut – but also signals his arrival as a serious contender in the middleweight division, as he defeated a seasoned veteran like Meerschaert in dominant fashion.
