It goes without saying that law enforcementย needs to train martial arts; especially police officers and particularly grappling. For, if they know how to control someone without inflicting damage, it makes both theirs and the suspect’s life easier.
For instance, this one police officer had to subdue a suspect in front of a local supermarket.
He took him down with a Body Lock takedown in a gentle manner and then took away his posting hand. He also took the suspect’s back and expertly controlled him on the ground throughout.
In the end, the police officer successfully handcuffed and took him away. Watch it all take place on the video below:

This stands in stark contrast to what happened a couple of days ago at a local high school, when a police officer attempted to break up a fight between two students.
When the officer tried to approach one of the students, the 15-year old established a Body Lock grip and took the officer down.
Luckily, the police officer didnโt suffer any injuries and the student was arrested.
