[WATCH] Olympic Boxer Makes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition Debut

Olympic bronze medalist Tony Jeffries has competed in his first-ever BJJ tournament!

While Jeffries has an illustrious background in boxing, the transition from striking to grappling presents a significant challenge, especially for someone who began training in BJJ at the age of 37.

Jeffries is no stranger to elite competition, having represented Great Britain in the 2008 Olympics, where he secured a bronze medal at light-heavyweight.
Following his Olympic success, he turned professional, amassing an undefeated 9-0-1 record before retiring in 2012 due to persistent hand injuries.

Fast forward to today, and Jeffries has spent two years immersed in Jiu-Jitsu, training diligently as a white belt.

Competing in his division, Jeffries had two matches to test his skills.
He secured a submission victory in his first bout, delivering an impressive performance.

His second match was far closer, with Jeffries earning a win on points to claim the gold medal in his bracket!
Therefore starting his competitive BJJ journey with a flawless 2-0 record.
