Nate Diaz’s time on the Russian reality MMA series ALF Global Reality ended abruptly after a full-blown brawl broke out during filming – forcing the Stockton superstar and his team to walk off the set entirely.
The incident came to light through longtime teammate and fellow MMA veteran Jake Shields, who had been on-site with Diaz as part of his coaching staff.
Shields, who had been documenting the show from behind the scenes, revealed that tensions escalated during what was supposed to be a simple meet-and-greet with the fighters and opposing coach Jon Jones.
In footage shared by Shields, everything starts off relatively calm.
Cameras capture Diaz and Jones mingling with contestants while surrounded by production staff.
But then things take a sharp turn, when one of the fighters approaches Diaz and appears to physically reach for him.
The video shows Diaz brushing the fighter off, prompting a heated exchange.
Within seconds, fists are flying, people are shouting, and the set descends into chaos as more individuals jump into the fight.
A member of Diaz’s crew can be seen throwing a punch, setting off an all-out brawl involving multiple cast and crew members.
According to Shields, the most shocking part wasn’t just the fight, but it was what happened afterward:
That fighter wasn’t even kicked off the show.
He came back later – and then another brawl happened.
Even more alarmingly, Shields claims that members of the production crew appeared to get physically involved as well:
To me it was very clear that it was the staff and the workers.
That was one of those moments where it’s like, I better diffuse the situation.
After the second incident, Diaz and his team had enough.
They packed up and left the show, refusing to return.
Even after producers reportedly tried to convince them to stay:
Why are we going to go back and film a show?
It’s one thing to be fighting the fighters, that’s why I went out there with Nate, I thought it was a possibility some of these fighters will try to test him.
But when you have potentially the crew hitting you too, it’s like no, f**k that.
