Teenage grappling standout Helena Crevar delivered a phenomenal performance on Friday night, securing a decisive victory in her ONE Championship debut.
Competing in an openweight submission grappling match at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Crevar defeated Teshya Noelani Alo via Estima lock at the 1:40 mark of the contest.
The bout came together under unusual circumstances, as the originally scheduled bantamweight matchup was moved to openweight following weigh-in complications.
Despite the late change, Crevar showed composure and control from the opening exchange, quickly isolating the leg and finishing the submission.
After the win, Crevar acknowledged that making weight under ONE Championship’s hydration testing system proved challenging and suggested a permanent move up in weight may be in her future:
Next time I’m probably going up a weight class so I can pass the hydration and make weight as well.
Still just a teenager, Crevar has already transitioned into competing against fully grown opposition and appears unfazed by the step up in competition.
Reflecting on her rapid progress, Crevar highlighted how much has changed since entering the adult ranks:
[2025] was my first adult year, so there were a lot of things that I was finally able to do…
Like compete in the adult divisions officially and just accomplish that. But this year, winning in ONE Championship is a big goal, possibly going for a title and continuing to rack up as many records as I can.
