Watch: Guillotine Choke Ends Street Altercation in Seconds

Being able to stand up for yourself is one of the most important things you’ll get out from training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You’ll learn how to compose yourself in a situation that’s going bad, how to evade from getting into that sort of a situation in the first place, as well as how to defend yourself. For those reasons, getting into a street fight will become one worry less in your life.
What’s more, it’s often the simplest of techniques that are most effective. For example, the Guillotine Choke.

The video below shows what happens when a person applies a tight Guillotine Choke in a street fight. Namely, one person is seen provoking and harassing the second person, that decides to stand up for himself. The aggressor continues berating the victim, despite the obvious size disadvantage (and probable intoxication).
In the end, the aggressor spits on the victim, and that’s when the victim decides to engage in a physical conflict. He catches the aggressor in a Guillotine Choke and puts him to sleep in moments’ notice.

But here’s the question – does the “Guillotine Guy” actually train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? The answer is “probably no”; considering that there’s not much technique to his choke and that he wasn’t managing the distance properly in the first place.
