After a challenging series of matches, Johnson took a moment to console an opponent he had just defeated.
The opponent was visibly upset after the match, both on the mat and off the mat – but that’s when Johnson took over.
Johnson, who himself faced many challenges in his career, reminded the man that this was just one battle in a much larger journey.
He reminded him that “this” – the tournament – is a thing done just for fun, that it isn’t anything serious. And that he’ll be going back to those aspects of life that truly matter, such as his wife and kids.
