Craig Jones emerged victorious in the highly anticipated intergender grappling match against Gabi Garcia – at the Craig Jones Invitational (CJI).
The match started with Garcia attempting to take Jones’ back early on, but the Australian star quickly reversed the position.
Jones began attacking with a variety of submissions, including a Triangle Choke, Straight Ankle Locks, and Armbar attempts in the first round, keeping Garcia on the defensive.
In the second round, Jones continued to push the pace and attempted a Twister submission.
Although Garcia managed to escape, Jones swiftly transitioned to a Heel Hook. Garcia showed her resilience, giving a thumbs up to indicate she was fine.
However, Jones continued his relentless pursuit for the submission eventually taking Garcia’s back and working for a Rear Naked Choke.
While Garcia initially defended, Jones secured the choke on his second attempt, earning the tap and sealing the victory.
