Arman Tsarukyan added another title to his growing resume with a submission win in the main event of ACBJJ 20, on Wednesday night in Moscow!
Competing at the Dynamo Volleyball Arena, Tsarukyan defeated Mehdi Baydulaev to claim the promotion’s “all-star title” in a 10-minute grappling match that featured an unusual and chaotic early sequence.
The bout briefly went off the rails when Tsarukyan appeared to confuse the ruleset, throwing a hard knee to the body during a clinch – an illegal strike under ACBJJ grappling rules.
Baydulaev responded with a retaliatory kick before the referee stepped in, creating a tense moment where it looked possible the match might be stopped altogether.
After a short delay, officials allowed the contest to continue, issuing Tsarukyan a yellow card for the foul.
Once the action resumed, however, the UFC lightweight contender took full control of the match.
He dictated the pace, consistently advanced position, and eventually worked his way to Baydulaev’s back.
With just 13 seconds remaining on the clock, Tsarukyan locked in a Rear Naked Choke, forcing Baydulaev to tap and securing the victory despite the earlier penalty.
The win marks Tsarukyan’s second appearance at ACBJJ, following his submission of Patricky “Pitbull” Freire at ACBJJ 18 in September.
