The new generations of BJJ practitioners that are coming up are going to be… Scary, to say the least.
These are the kids that have been training almost ever since they could walk, and have been surrounded by parents who often train as well, and fantastic coaches.
For example, one of those “kids” is Isaque Lima.
With a ton of titles to his name already, he recently pulled off an amazing feat at the ADCC Open Spa Camboriú – by defeating 3 black belts and 1 brown belt.
Here is what his coach, Melqui Galvao, had to say about his performance:
I speak as Mica (Galvao)’s coach and father: out of all my students, Isaque is the one who reminds me most of Mica at the beginning.
The way he moves, the reading positions, the hunger for completion…But at the same time, Isaac is already building his own identity. He’s one of a kind.
This weekend at the ADCC Open Spa Camboriú, at just 15 years old, he did what few could do: beating three black belts and one brown belt.
Who saw it, knows what it was. Technique, courage and maturity beyond age. It’s impossible not to create expectations watching such a young boy dominate experienced opponents with so much authority.
Isaac represents the future of our Jiu-Jitsu — and the future has started now.
