After suffering the most serious setback in his UFC career, a knockout loss to Anthony Perosh, after 14 seconds at UFC Rio 4, Vinny Pezao will not get much downtime. The current champion of ADCC has confirmed that he will compete in the tournament, on Oct. 19, in Beijing, China. He won the Heavyweight category at ADCC by beating Fabricio Werdum on points.

A few months ago Vinny questioned the choice of Beijing as the venue of the tournament and told Tatame magazine: ”China has never had a contestant who has been prominent in the ADCC, and not just in terms of results, but even in popularity,” he said. “I never heard of any Jiu-Jitsu in China. Never heard of the popularity of Jiu-Jitsu in China. ”

Besides being in the biggest event in the world of Grappling, the Brazilian will not hang up his gloves in MMA. He fended off retirement talk and revealed through his Facebook account, which will be in action on November 9, against veteran Jeff Monson, 42 years old, at a MMA event in Hawaii.

After his first stint in the UFC in 2008, Vinny returned to the show last year, but failed to establish himself. In three matches, the Brazilian won only the first, against Igor Pokrajac and was defeated by Phil Davis and then Perosh.
