Vagner Rocha To Challenge Andrew Tackett For UFC BJJ Welterweight Title

Vagner Rocha is set to challenge Andrew Tackett for the UFC BJJ welterweight title in the main event of UFC BJJ 7, scheduled for April 2, 2026.

Despite the card already featuring two additional title fights, Rocha vs. Tackett has been selected as the headline bout for the evening.

In the co-main event, Carlos Henrique will defend his title against Lucas Valente, while Aurelie Le Vern is also scheduled to defend her championship against Brianna Ste-Marie.
The event will also feature several high-profile matchups earlier on the card, including appearances from top grapplers such as Nicholas Meregali and Adele Fornarino.

The welterweight title clash between Rocha and Tackett presents an intriguing stylistic matchup.

Tackett is widely known for his explosive offensive style and relentless pace. From the opening moments of a match, he often pushes forward aggressively, looking to secure takedowns and immediately begin attacking the guard.

His passing style is fast and dynamic, allowing him to break through even elite guards at the weight class. As his opponents begin to slow under the pressure, Tackett frequently capitalizes on mistakes and transitions to his strongest finishing positions.
One of his signature paths to victory involves taking the back and locking in a choke.

Rocha approaches grappling in a very different way.

Rather than relying on speed and volume, Rocha tends to impose a slower, grinding style built around physical pressure and wrestling fundamentals.
He is notoriously difficult to take down and often uses heavy collar ties to control exchanges on the feet and drain his opponents’ energy.

Once the match hits the ground, Rocha is known for his pressure passing and ability to wear down opponents over time while maintaining strong positional control.
He is also extremely difficult to submit, forcing opponents to work hard for every positional advance.
