UFC fighter Jean Silva recently opened up about one of the more unexpected challenges he’s faced during his fighting career…
An ill-timed bout with diarrhea right before entering the cage.
He explained what happened:
So, there was a fight a long time ago and the event was an open-air venue and I just needed to get out there to fight, and as soon as I got out there to fight, I got diarrhea and it was a pretty shi**y situation.
Silva went on to explain how the cold weather contributed to his condition, creating the perfect storm for disaster just moments before his match:
Dude, I was getting sick because it was open air, it was cold as sh*t, I was already trembling and cold and all of a sudden, I felt it.
What followed was a situation few fighters would be willing to admit publicly:
By the cutman when they were just checking me out, I just stepped off to the side and did it right there, man. I had to do it.
Despite the ordeal, Silva still went through with the fight – but admitted the physical toll was too much to overcome:
No way I could win.
The guy beat the sh*t out of me.
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
