UFC’s Deiveson Figueiredo Competed Blindfolded In A Parajiu-Jitsu Tournament

Deiveson Figueiredo is a professional MMA athlete who fights in the UFC, and is a former UFC flyweight champion of the world.
He is also a well-versed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, who won many of his MMA matches via submission.

Figueiredo recently competed at a Parajiu-Jitsu tournament, all the while being blindfolded in order to level the playing field.
Take a look at some of the highlights from his matches:

Figueiredo shared the amount of respect he feels for the competitors:

Through this photo I want to thank everyone involved for yesterday’s event. Each one who hugged me when leaving tatame.

It was very special to see so many men and women who despite some physical adversity are examples of dedication.
God bless you all, know that I’m a fan of each and every one of you.

He was grateful for the experience, too:

“Efficiency challenge”

One of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in sport, inclusiveness and love for equality.
