UFC lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot has officially received an invitation to compete at ADCC 2026!
Gamrot’s participation immediately adds star power to the event.
Currently ranked seventh in the UFC lightweight division, the Polish fighter brings both name recognition and high-level grappling credentials to the prestigious submission grappling tournament.
Gamrot has a legitimate competitive background in grappling and has already proven himself in the ADCC qualifying circuit.
The UFC standout previously won the ADCC European Trials twice, earning his way into the world championship tournament on two separate occasions.
Before transitioning into mixed martial arts, Gamrot built his foundation as a wrestler.
During his youth, he even reached the level of Poland’s national wrestling team before eventually shifting his focus toward MMA in 2011.
Gamrot quickly established himself as a rising prospect and remained undefeated during the early portion of his career.
Around that same time, he also captured his first ADCC European Trials title in 2014.
That victory earned him his debut appearance at the ADCC World Championship in 2015, where he faced Lucas Lepri in the opening round.
Gamrot ultimately exited the tournament in the first round.
He returned to the ADCC stage again in 2019 after winning the European Trials for the second time.
That year he was matched against Garry Tonon in the opening round, resulting in another early exit.
While both appearances ended in the first round, Gamrot’s losses came against opponents who would go on to place on the podium in their respective tournaments.
Gamrot currently holds a professional MMA record of 25–4 with one no contest.
His next fight is already scheduled for April 11, 2026, where he will face Esteban Ribovics at UFC 327.
