UFC’s Belal Muhammad has nothing but admiration for Khabib Nurmagomedov – and it’s clear that training with Team Khabib has had a significant impact on his career.
In a recent interview, Muhammad praised Khabib’s relentless work ethic and skill, noting that despite his retirement, “The Eagle” continues to train hard every day:
I was like: “Bro I’m getting killed by him” and then all of a sudden I get the announcement and I’m like: “Bro, I suck…”
Khabib could literally come back and be a champion right now.
In any division he wants.
While Muhammad’s admiration for Khabib might come across as a bit exaggerated, it’s clear that he deeply respects the Dagestani fighter and his team.
Despite his ambitions of becoming a two-division champion, Muhammad has made it clear that he would never fight lightweight champion Islam Makhachev – out of respect and loyalty to the team:
For me it’s more so about the respect and what they’ve done for me that I would never want to like tarnish that.
It’s more about loyalty to me than anything.
