Most of the elite grapplers are hugely favored in their matches against their local counterparts. However, some local talents aren’t too big of underdogs either.
For example, Pat Downey. Even though he is new to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he’s an accomplished amateur wrestler and is known for his match against Gordon Ryan in 2020. With that said, this will also be his second Third Coast Grappling event – so he already has some elite competition experience under his belt!
On the other hand, Jeferson Guaresi – from Unity Jiu-Jitsu – is favored for winning the event. He’s a 2021 No Gi Pans and World Champion, as well as a 2019 No Gi European Open champion.
However, Renato Canuto is also on the card. Known for his explosive, high-paced game, he is sure to bring on one more entertaining night of competition for everyone watching. Plus, Oliver Taza – ADCC European trials winner – is also on the bracket… Which altogether makes up for an exciting tournament in waiting!
