Two BJJ legends will meet in a superfight at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo 2014, which will be held on 18th and 19th October in Long Beach, California.
Nino Schembri and Vitor Shaolin , 2x champion and 3x world champion, respectively, will face off in a superfight.
Shaolin and Nino, are both running their own academies in the USA nowadays. Shaolin is based in New York and Nino in California. Both were at their peak in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, competing in the Mundials, ADCC and in MMA.

Creator of gogoplata, Nino also fought MMA in a Pride event in which he beat Kazushi Sakuraba. Shaolin, in turn, was champion of Shooto and Cage Rage fighter and now will act as referee of UFC Fight Night 45, on Wednesday July 16th.
The superfight will be in the Gi under IBJJF rules, and will be 15 minutes long. The superfights are all scheduled for Saturday, October 18.
Among the attractions this year, is the realization of the IBJJF Pro League, a professional tournament, that will pay $ 5,000 to each champion at black belt.
