Shamil Gasanov, a 27 year-old Russian MMA fighter, has made quite a name for himself already at ONE Championship. Namely, in his ONE debut, he needed just two minutes to sink in and secure a Rear Naked Choke finish against Kim Jae Woong.

Then, moments after his outstanding debut victory, Gasanov took the chance to call out Garry Tonon – currently the #2 ranked ONE Featherweight contender and a familiar face in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community worldwide.
Tonon was quick to accept the challenge, and even offered Gasanov to “break off his leg” in the upcoming match.
Gasanov fired back with enthusiasm:
[Tonon] is nothing more than an American trash talker. I can rip his head off and mail it back to the States after the fight.
He believes that Tonon’s career is on the decline – and he wants to assist its downfall:
He should be grateful people are talking about him now. He should thank me. ONE has put him on the shelf, forgot about him already.
If he wants to come back, I will help him retire.
